Choose A Service

Not sure which service is right for you?

If you choose PROOFREADING, your document will be corrected for spelling, punctuation and typographical errors, and unequivocal grammatical mistakes. Any problems with clarity and diction, however, will not be identified or addressed.  For that, you need BASIC EDITING.  For an illustration of the difference, click here: Proofreading vs. Basic Editing.

If you choose BASIC EDITING, your document will be corrected for basic errors, and any problems arising from word choice or sentence structure will be addressed.  Any weakness in the structure and organisation of the document itself, however, will not be repaired.  For that, you need CLOSE CONTENT EDITING. For an illustration of the difference, click here: Basic Editing vs Close Content Editing.

If you need help from the start of a project — for example, with choosing a topic or focus for an essay, organising your arguments and evidence, completing a first draft or working your way through a substantial revision, then PROJECT DEVELOPMENT could be for you.  Click here to read a recent Project Development Case Study.

A quick illustration of the difference between the three services:

Original Copy: Reading the report, it seems to say that theres no difference between single sex education and coeducation, students do just as good.

Proofread Copy: Reading the report, it seems to say that there’s no difference between single-sex education and coeducation; students do just as well.

Basic Edited Copy: The report suggests that there is no difference between single-sex education and coeducation; children perform equally well in both environments.

Close Content Edited Copy: The report suggests that there is no difference between single-sex education and coeducation; children perform equally well in both environments.  [Editor’s Note: I would relocate discussion of this report to Section 3 of your paper, in which you critique the arguments against co-education.  In this section, your focus is on its advantages.]
