Personal Statements
Good grades aren't all that's required for admission to university these days.

In the United States, the college application essay can be the determining factor in deciding whether or not an application succeeds.  Increasingly, British institutions also are asking applicants to produce a Personal Statement outlining their reasons for wanting a place on a particular course.

Reads Well offers PERSONAL STATEMENT DEVELOPMENT to help you present your interests, ambitions and achievements most effectively, and make the strongest case possible for why you should be accepted by the university of your choice.

How It Works:  A Project Mentor will meet with you to review any information you can provide about the course of study for which you are applying, and to talk with you about the source of your interest and your plans for the future.  The Mentor will take notes on the computer while you talk, organising the thoughts and examples you provide for clarity and impact.  At the end of the session you’ll come away with a rough draft for you to develop, and clear, specific guidance about how to do so.

Personal Statement Development includes Proofreading and Basic Editing of up to two subsequent drafts.

Please note: clients aged 17 or younger must provide written parental approval (or equivalent) before receipt of any Reads Well service.  Reads Well recommends that a parent or other responsible adult attend when such clients first meet with our editors, and welcomes their subsequent participation should parents wish to remain involved.
