Reads Well’s founder and senior editor Jennifer Cornell has over 20 years’ experience teaching creative writing, public speaking, literature, film studies, and critical analysis at the undergraduate and postgraduate level and through adult and continuing education programmes in both the US and the UK.  She has taught a range of subjects to American prep school students, including animal behaviour, international relations, composition and rhetoric.  She has over ten years’ experience in the community sector in North Belfast, and has secured more than £45,000 in grants as an individual artist and on behalf of the community groups with which she’s worked.

Her essays and short stories have appeared in various academic and literary journals and other publications, including Cara, Aer Lingus’ in-flight magazine, and have been much anthologised, most recently in The Granta Book of the Irish Short Story (2010).

She is a graduate of Harvard University, and a Registered Support Provider with both Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Ulster.
